A paid summer mentorship for qualifying CTBA teens. Shadow our coaches, help run the Kids & Youth classes, corner real fights with the team, and earn community service hours along the way.

Our Teen Leadership Program gives qualifying students from our Teens classes the chance to mentor the Kids & Youth classes. Teens shadow our coaches and Senior Teen coaches on the mats, then take on more responsibility as the summer goes on.
This is a paid position. Teens work a set schedule and receive a flat fee each week. It also qualifies as the community service many CPS students need to graduate.
Coach on the mats
Work side by side with CTBA coaches and Senior Teen coaches in every Kids & Youth class.
Earn service hours
Counts as community service toward the hours many CPS students need to graduate.
Build real skills
Teamwork, communication, and leadership: social skills that carry into school and future careers.
Corner a real fight
Travel locally with the fight team and get first-hand experience in the corner on fight day.
Candidate requirements
We're an Academy that prides itself on the science and theory of fighting, and on sharing that knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. Our teen leaders need to carry that forward.
15–17 years old
Open to current members of our Teens classes.
3.0 GPA minimum
Must average a 3.0 or higher.
8–12 months at CTBA
Approximately 8 months to a year as an Academy member.
Solid fundamentals
Understanding of basic Muay Thai techniques.
Respect & passion
Personable, respectful, and passionate about the sport of Muay Thai.
Positive attitude
Willing to push through challenges.
Prompt & on time
Kids are counting on you. Show up ready.
Available all summer
Able to commit to the full summer schedule.
Evening shift
Three evenings a week during the summer. Fight-team events are announced ahead of time so you can plan around them.
Kids / Youth Class
Assist the head coach on the mats: drills, pad work, and keeping the class focused and safe.
Onboarding
Help new students learn the basics of offense, defense, and how to hit the bag.
Corner with the team (optional)
Not required, but this is where the real reward is: seeing why we train the way we train, and what it takes for a fighter to compete at a high level.
From shadow to leader
Candidates finish the program able to run a Kids / Youth class from start to finish under the head coach, with the structure and confidence to lead in class and in life.
Shadow
Learn how our coaches structure a class, manage the room, and teach technique to younger students.
Assist
Lead drills, hold pads, and give feedback as you take on more of the class each week.
Lead
Run a full Kids / Youth class from beginning to end under the watchful eye of the head coach.
What to bring
Selected candidates must bring the following on their first day.
Valid ID
Driver's license or school / state ID.
Proof of GPA
Most recent year showing a qualifying GPA.
Coach approval
Senior CTBA Coach sign-off on your fundamental Muay Thai techniques.
