Teen Leadership Program
What is our Teen Leadership Program?
As school is winding down, we are opening up our first mentor program for qualifying Teens in our Teens classes to participate in our first Summer Leadership Program. Our goal for this program is to provide an opportunity to be a big brother/big sister to the kids & youth classes. They will do so by shadowing our coaches and Senior Teen coaches during classes. This program also qualifies as a community service program many CPS students need in order to graduate. Aside from this, some additional benefits to taking part are learning to function in a team environment, gaining valuable social skills in order that would help in later careers, and the best is traveling with the fight team locally as well as getting first hand experience in the corner of an actual fight! This is also a PAID position where you teens are on a schedule and will receive a flat fee each week.
Requirements
Teen candidates must be:
- 15-17 years of age
- GPA must average a minimum of 3.0
- Been a member at our Academy for approximately minimum of 8-months to a year to qualify
- Understanding of basic Muay Thai techniques
- Must be personable & resourceful. We are an Academy that prides itself on higher learning about the science & theories of fighting, and we share knowledge to those who are wanting to learn.
- Great attitude and no negativity
- Available in the summer
Documents needed
Selected Candidates must bring with them on the day they are starting the following items & documents:
Valid Drivers License or School/State ID
Proof of recent year qualifying GPA
Senior CTBA Coach approval of fundamental Muay Thai techniques
A Candidates schedule will be:
Morning shift Monday-Friday: 11am-2pm
Customer service at the front desk
Evening shift Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays:
4:30pm-6:00pm: Kids/Youth class
6:15pm-7:15pm: Onboarding
There will also be some events that we will want you to come to and help corner during your time here which will most likely be known ahead of time so you can schedule yourself accordingly. Coming to these events are not required but the real reward is putting all the pieces of the puzzle together that will give the candidate a very real experience on why we train the way we train, and what it takes for a fighter to compete at a high level!
Towards the end of their program, candidates will have learned to practically run a kids/youth class from beginning to end under the watchful eye of the head coach. More importantly, they will have gained the structure, confidence, and skills to lead both in their class and outside their personal lives.
